ASTRIA ASCENDING MAIN JOBS FULL There are no passives or stat boosts here. The difference between a main job and a sub job is that the latter only has the active abilities (i.e., attack skills/spells/buffs), and a support slot node. For instance, if Ulan chose the Guardian as her main job, then she can either pick the Harnesser or Black Mage as her sub job. The ones that you can choose from are the remaining jobs that your character didn’t pick beforehand. Again, each dungeon that you complete will grant two sub job crests. This is when you visit the Gemini Temple, as well as three additional Zodiac Temples of your choosing. You’ll obtain sub job crests halfway through the campaign. In any case, you can see an example below of what the White Mage skill tree looks like if it’s chosen as a main job: Sadly, skipping a main job can severely gimp you because a few options are extremely viable. You’ll still be able to pick a sub job and support job (which we’ll get to in a while). This is actually the only way you’ll get to keep your character’s original look, as well as the weapon type that they initially used for their base job. Note: It’s also possible to complete the entire campaign without ever choosing a main job. Each temple dungeon that you clear grants you two main job crests. You’ll visit four Zodiac Temples as part of the storyline (i.e., Pisces, Aries, Virgo, and Leo). Main job crests are unlocked as you progress during the early stages of Astria Ascending‘s campaign. The weapon type that they use will also be different. Once you select a main job, this will replace your character’s look, but they can still unlock some skill nodes from their base job. Since there are only 12 existing ascensions, there are some overlaps. Note 2: If you unlock a support node and a passive, you can equip that passive by going to the Abilities menu.Įach character in Astria Ascending can choose from three specific main jobs for their ascension. Note 1: All of these jobs are unique and no other character can have them. Kress: Fencer – Has blade abilities where she’ll hit first with a physical attack followed by elemental magic. Alassia: Summoner – Is able to summon the Astrae entities to help in battles. Arpajo: Thief – Has physical attacks and abilities to help him steal items. Kaydin: Explorer – Has physical attacks and dark magic. Dagmar: Sorcerer – Uses low-level elemental spells (i.e., fire, ice, water, lightning, earth, and wind). Here are the base jobs for each character: There are eight characters in Astria Ascending, and each has his or her own base job (i.e., default starting class). With a manic momentum, innovative camerawork, and shockingly cavalier nihilism reminiscent of the original Evil Dead, Savage and his lead have fearlessly constructed an uncomfortable emblem of triggering social media extremities in this anti-hero, and they put her (and the unfortunate souls in her orbit) through a dizzying wringer of inventive gore, gallows humor, and impish provocations. But when her fringe beliefs and selfish behavior incite contempt from her progressive friends, her response inadvertently propels her (and her online audience) into a perilous and profane high-wire horror chase through an increasingly foreboding English countryside. Exasperated and depressed by her pandemic lifestyle in Los Angeles, she breaks quarantine for London, England, and the hospitality of a former bandmate. With DASHCAM, Savage and his collaborators once more reflect our current cultural milieu, further distilling an extended lockdown’s worth of anxieties into a nonstop nightmare, but this time compellingly filtering them through the perverse perspective of a caustic and conspiratorial “always-online” troll in what has to be among the most chaotic horror protagonists ever encountered.įramed within a livestream, an indie-rock musician portrays a self-consciously obnoxious exaggeration of her own polarizing online persona. Last summer, horror fans were terrorized by Rob Savage’s Host, a pandemic-produced scare factory that cannily captured our contemporary conditions as it depicted an online séance gone scarily wrong.
